Our veterinarian, Dr. Annette Van Goosen, specializes in medicine and surgery for cats and dogs. In December 2006, she acquired Town and Country Animal Hospital from Dr. Larry DeMore. Dr. DeMore is at the hospital on an occasional basis. He has retired after 40 years of practice. Dr. Van Goosen received her BA in agriculture at the University of Georgia, and graduated from the UGA School of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. She grew up in the Atlanta area. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the National Federation of Independent Business. Dr. Van Goosen is married to J.D. Van Goosen, the office manager for the hospital. They have four children, as well as four horses, nine dogs, three cats, a herd of cows, and a cockatiel. She is a member of the Habersham Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Mt. Airy. Dr. Van Goosen enjoys helping animals and their owners, and under her guidance, Town and Country Animal Hospital is a caring facility for cats and dogs who need care and comfort.
